RIGHT TO PLAY (04/16/2010)

Edmonton, AB, -- On April 16th the Edmonton Rush partnered with Right to Play, a charity that improves that lives of children in third world countries. With top athletes representing over 40 countries, these role models raise awareness worldwide.

The Edmonton Rush auctioned off jerseys for each player, including all star jerseys from some of the leagues biggest stars including Gavin Prout, Brodie Merrill and Jimmy Quinlan that were donated from the Professional Lacrosse Players Association.

"Sport and play can bring so many positive qualities to one's life and plays a key role in the development of a child", said Chris McElroy, team captain of the Edmonton Rush and one of the NLL players leading in the Right To Play efforts. "We, as athletes, can really relate to the power of sport and play growing up. The PLPA is excited about this partnership, as Right To Play is an incredible organization and we couldn't think of a better way to do our part in improving the lives of children in some of the most disadvantaged places of the world."
