RUSH WAIT FOR PLAYOFF SCHEDULE (04/19/2010)

2010 Season Breaks Franchise Records

Edmonton, AB -- Thanks to a critical victory Saturday night against the Washington Stealth, the Edmonton Rush have wrapped up their regular season and now are awaiting their playoff position.

The Rush had already qualified for the National Lacrosse League post-season and a berth in the quest for the Champion's Cup but their dramatic 14-13 win in Everett, Washington, kept the Rush in the hunt for first overall in the league, the West Division regular-season title, and a home playoff date. With their 16-game regular-season schedule completed with a 10-6 record, the Rush will now wait to see where they will be positioned for the playoffs as their rivals end their seasons this coming weekend. "The games that you play well and lose always seem to be harder to swallow and I thought we played very well on Friday against Calgary.

They are the defending champions and I think we proved once again that we can play with them and anyone in the NLL. Going into overtime was probably the killer. We were 3 for 3 up to that point in OT so the odds were we were going to lose one. Although, from an entertainment perspective I don't think it gets much better than that. It was a great lacrosse game." states GM/Head Coach Derek Keenan.

"Right from the time we walked into the locker room on Friday night after the OT loss to Calgary they guys were all very positive and upbeat. When we got on that bus at 4:30 AM Saturday morning I had that same positive and confident feeling going into Washington. That feeling never left the team for the entire day and for the entire game. We have bounced back all year from tough losses and Saturday was no different. We came out really hard and I think we caught Washington on their heels a little bit. Then their fresh legs and our fatigue kicked in later in the game but we hung on for a very big win. It was important for a few reasons. We did not want to go into the playoffs on a 3 game losing streak and it kept us alive for a home playoff date and maybe even first place. I think we also showed we can play with and beat all of the best teams in the NLL."
