BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION (06/09/2010)

On April 2nd, The Edmonton Rush teamed up with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation to help black out breast cancer. As part of the initiative, the Rush wore pink helmets that were used as a part of a silent auction to raise money for breast cancer research. The team also sold pink beach balls that were thrown onto the field during a halftime contest. Over 500 beach balls were purchased for a $5 donation.

Recently, Rush Captain Chris McElroy presented a cheque to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation as part of the NLL Black out Breast Cancer initiative. This was the first year the NLL did a league wide initiative for in support of fighting breast cancer.

In total the Edmonton Rush raised over $5,000 for the CBCF
